The market demand for lead-acid battery chargers continues to grow, reaching 6.83 billion yuan in 2025 and projected to jump to 21 billion yuan in 2026. This growth is primarily driven by demand from electric two-wheelers, industrial equipment, and policy-driven intelligent upgrades.

 

Electric Two-Wheeler Market: The increasing number of electric bicycles and tricycles is the largest source of charger demand, accounting for approximately 76% of the overall market. Accelerated demand for battery swapping in rural and county-level markets further boosts sales.

 

Industrial and Commercial Scenarios: Strong demand for high-reliability charging equipment is seen in forklifts, AGV logistics vehicles, and backup power supplies for communication base stations. The market size for forklift chargers reached 930 million yuan in 2024, with an annual growth rate exceeding 10%.

 

Energy Storage System Support: Lead-acid batteries remain widely used in household and small commercial energy storage devices due to their cost advantage, driving demand for intelligent charging module integration.

 

Policy Mandates Drive Product Upgrades to Intelligent Standards

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Safety Technical Requirements for Chargers for Electric Bicycles" (GB42233-2022) will be fully implemented in 2025, mandating that newly sold vehicles be equipped with intelligent chargers featuring overcharge protection, short-circuit protection, and status feedback functions, directly eliminating a large number of non-standard products.

 

Starting in 2026, over 230 prefecture-level cities nationwide will promote community infrastructure projects integrating "centralized collection and transportation of lead-acid batteries + intelligent charging cabinets." Pilot projects have already covered 147 cities, with an average deployment of over 120 intelligent chargers per location, resulting in large-scale procurement orders.
